If Y = (2x + 1)³, find dy/dx

  If Y = (2x + 1)³, find dy/dx Solution Y = (2x + 1)³ Let 2x + 1 = v therefore dv/dx = 2 Y = v³ (Remember 2x + 1 has been replaced with v) dy/dx = 3v² Applying the chain rule formula dy/dx = dy/dx *  dv/dx We have: 3v² * 2 3(2x + 1)² * 2 Ans: 6(2x + 1)² Helpful?  Let's know what you feel in the comment below    See how mytutor solved  thesame question Follow Fiero on Instagram

Given that Y = (X + 1)² , find dy/dx

  Given that y = (x + 1)² find dy/dx Solution Expanding our question: Y = (x + 1)² = y (x + 1)(x + 2) Multiplying our expanded question we have: X² + 2x + 1 Now differentiating: X² + 2x + 1 dy/dx = 2x + 2 Is this answer helpful?
